Tonight,  costume designers from all over the world are awarded by the members of the prestigious Costume Designers Guild .

The Costume Designers Guild Awards are considered one of the hottest events during the awards season that runs from January, culminating with the Academy Awards® at the end of February.  This years event, the 11th Annual Costume Designers Guild Awards Show, which will be presented by  Mistress of Ceremonies, actress  Debra Messing. and held at the Four Seasons Beverly Wilshire Hotel in Beverly Hills.

Costume designers have been honoring their own since 1999 with the annual Costume Designers Guild Awards. A black-tie event honoring costume design excellence in five categories for theatrical motion picture, television, and commercials, which are voted on by the Costume Designers Guild members.

Each Awardee will receive the beautiful  sterling silver statuette, designed by Costume Designers Guild member David LeVey  and produced by their 10 year sponsor  Bulgari, and this year by Jline Group productions, the producer of the event.

During the gala ceremony the Guild  also gives out  the  ‘Distinguished’ honors awards to a selection of actors, directors, producers, tied specifically to the designer award winners.  This year’s honors go to : Michael Douglas is receiving the Swarovski President’s Award; director James Burrows is receiving the Distinguished Collaborator Award; Marilyn Vance is the recipient of the Lacoste Career Achievement in Film Award and Van Broughton Ramsey is being presented with the award for Career Achievement in Television.
