I’m living in the new millennium, and I’m back to having pen pals. Granted it’s virtual and instant, but pen pals never the less. I’m being deprived of the beauty of hearing their voices, sighs, laughs, etc.
Can someone please make my phone ring again? I’m turning off my texting service, for a week. I want to go back to hearing my friends voices. I miss talking on the phone, like I use to do when I was a kid, before the new technology took over all those laughs, and amazing conversations.
Lately, I only get text messaging. I don’t dislike it, some times it makes me feel like I’m the character of an espionage movie, but I also feel like I’m missing on just having a good conversation.
As crazy as this sounds, sometimes I think that the person texting me is not the person I know. It’s as if when the person is texting, he or she becomes some sort of new persona, a new character that exists only in the texting device, nothing to do with the person that I know. Like a Romanticized idea of who the person would like to be… like the character in a movie, or a novel. OK, I’m confused, I can’t figure out who is the person writing all these messages, sometimes it all reads the same, and if the person doesn’t write their name, well…..then I’m really clueless.
